Presently, on an annual basis, Americans are subsidizing the medical care for illegal aliens, crossing our border in droves, to the tune of 18.5 billion dollars. This is not optional, but is rather a forced issue. Taxpayers are literally paying for the care of illegals who wind up detained in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody. Not only are they not citizens, they also have no invested commitment to the USA. This is a nightmare of epic proportion for the US economy.
Now it would seem that the Biden Administration is scrambling for resources to pay for the border debacle by shifting funds and resources (doctors and nurses) away from the Veterans Administration to these illegal aliens.
Before the House Homeland Security Committee this week, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas confirmed to Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) that the Biden administration is in communications with VA officials to potentially transfer doctors and/or nurses to the southern border to treat illegal aliens arriving every day in record-breaking numbers. This is criminal and socialism at its finest.
This proposed plan to siphon healthcare services away from deserving American veterans and subverting these resources for their care, in favor of these illegal aliens arriving at the United States-Mexico border, is unthinkable.
When asked directly by Representative Hinson, “Is the department planning to reallocate resources, doctors and nurses, from our VA system intended to care for our veterans to illegal immigrants at our southern border?”
Mayorkas, after several attempts to skirt the question, or deflect the conversation, finally made the patronizing reply:
"Congresswoman, the resources that the medical personnel from the Veterans Administration would allocate to this effort is under the judgment of the secretary of Veterans Affairs, who prioritizes the interests of veterans above all others for very noble and correct,"
Further, when Hinson asked if Mayorkas had had any conversations regarding the plan, he again deflected any answer by responding in his all too familiar side-stepping manner-
“I have not personally, but of course, our teams, our personnel have… I’d be very pleased to follow-up with you.”
It is a crime that they would even consider stealing resources from the Veterans Administration who needs every penny and the resource personnel that they have, to meet the need of deserving American Veterans.
Mayorkas’ seeming cowardice for not being willing to reveal truth of this plan, further demonstrates how much this administration despises America and those who have long sacrificed and fought for our freedoms. The VA already has its hands full serving those veterans who are deserving of medical care across America. To strip them of needed resources is unthinkable.
According to Breitbart, one customs and Border Protection official put it this way-
‘We’re going to take medical services away from people that really deserve that, who went to combat … to give free medical attention to illegal migrants,'”
Thankfully, a group of Republican senators is introducing legislation to block the Biden administration from sending personnel and funding from the VA to alleviate the crisis at the southern border.
This new bill introduced Tuesday by Sen. John Boozman is aimed at doing just that. He is joined in this effort by Sens. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., John Thune, R-S.D., Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., Deb Fischer, R-Neb. ,Marco Rubio, R-Fla., John Cornyn, R-Texas, Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., Steve Daines, R-Mont., Tom Cotton, R-Ark., and Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn. Their bill would prohibit the use of funds earmarked for the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide emergency assistance at the southern border of the United States and assure that the care and services for Veterans are prioritized over illegal immigrants.
According to a Fox News Digital, Boozman was quoted as saying:
"Veterans should not bear the burden of President Biden’s disastrous immigration policy. Moving resources away from serving the needs of our veterans to supporting a foreseeable and avoidable crisis at our southern border is unacceptable.”
And Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla added:
"It’s despicable that the Biden administration would prioritize resources for illegal immigrants over the veterans who bravely served our country,"
