Fox News host, Steve Doocy and Fox contributor Newt Gingrich, appear in this segment of “Fox & Friends” to discuss Tulsi Gabbard's announcement ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. Gabbard ran for president last election and according to the hosts, found herself a bit isolated in the Democratic camp. Apparently today, less than one month from elections she is saying goodbye to the Democratic party and urging her “common sense independent-minded Democratic friends to join her”. Gabbard was quoted as tweeting-
“I believe in a government that is of, by, and for the people. Unfortunately, today’s Democratic Party does not. Instead, it stands for a government of, by and for the powerful elite. I’m calling on my fellow common sense independent minded Democrats to join me…in leaving the Democratic Party. If you can no longer stomach the direction that so-called woke Democratic Party ideologues are taking our country, I invite you to join me.“

Reportedly for Gabbard, the announcement is the culmination of years in which she has been increasingly at odds with the Democratic Party and its policies. Gabbard, has served as a Congresswoman representing Hawaii’s 2nd district from 2012-2021. She made history by becoming the first American Samoan and practicing Hindu, in Congress, following her election in 2012. She was also vocal in criticizing what she said were the Democrats’ “open border” policies and anti-police rhetoric. On the first episode of her new podcast, “The Tulsi Gabbard Show, “ in a video posted to social media she stated-
“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party. It’s now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoking anti-white racism, who actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, enshrined in our Constitution,”

Wow, someone willing to make choices regarding their belief, in our God-given freedoms, that are preserved in the U.S. Constitution - a Democrat no less. Tulsi Gabbard you are to be commended for being willing to stand up and be counted. The Democratic party does not know who, or what, they really lost today. To make these statements and ask others to join you is remarkable. This nation needs more leaders with common sense – which apparently is not so common anymore. I hope your friends join the call and make a different choice as well. America needs thinkers just like you to bring unity to this nation. Great job Tulsi!
