Trump Announces 2024 Run For President: ‘America’s Comeback Starts Right Now’

Setting up a possible rematch against President Joe Biden, on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump announced his 2024 campaign for president. Making his announcement at his club at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, the former president with former first lady Melania Trump, took the stage, as the Lee Greenwood anthem “God Bless the U.S.A.” played. Trump said –

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for the president of the United States,”

As the former president spoke about his comeback campaign, which has been several months in the making, an enthusiastic crowd of supporters chanted U-S-A!  Responding to the moment, Trump said-

“Two years ago, we were a great nation and soon we will be a great nation again,” …“You and all those watching are the heart and soul of this incredible movement in the greatest country, in the history of the world,”

Just as the United States was about to experience a “Golden Age”, Trump recalled, that he left office after the 2020 presidential election. During his four years as president and pulling the United States through a pandemic, Trump recalled his policy achievements saying-

“Inflation was non-existent, our southern border was by far the strongest ever,”

Saying that his historic effort to place economic tariffs on China, may have angered Chinese leaders, even possibly inspired them to try to affect the election results, he stated-

“Many people think that because of this, China played a very active role in the 2020 election. Just saying. Just saying,”

Referring to the relatively peaceful nature of world affairs when he was in office, Trump said-

“China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea were in check. They respected the United States and they respected me. I knew them well,”

Trump criticized Biden’s leadership, arguing that Biden was “leading us to the brink of nuclear war — a concept unimaginable just two short years ago, “. He continued to state that under Biden, the border had been invaded by migrants, illegal immigrants, smugglers, and criminals. He continued to describe the U.S., under the leadership of Biden as –

[a] “nation in decline” and a “failing nation” [where Americans were experiencing] “pain, hardship, anxiety, and despair.” Adding…“Our country is being destroyed before your very eyes,”.

Casting his campaign as a pushback, against efforts by the Washington establishment, to draft another candidate,

Trump did not refer to any potential primary rivals, during his announcement. Additionally, he did acknowledge, that the midterm elections, fell short of a predicted “red wave”. However, Trump focused instead, on celebrating the news that Republicans had taken back the House. He said-

“Nancy Pelosi has been fired. Isn’t that nice?” adding “The Washington establishment wants to silence us, but we will not let them do that,”

Finishing his comments related to the elections, Trump urged his supporters, to get out and support Republican Senate candidate Hershel Walker, in his runoff election in Georgia on December 6th.

All in all, Trumps’ announcement was very well received by the crowd, and was made in a definitely more subdued setting than usual. Though his speech, could’ve been said to be more subdued, the points he had to make we’re very straightforward and hard-hitting. His tone was quietly determined and demonstrated a clear focus on the losses that America has faced under the tenure of Joe Biden these past 20 months.

With his love for America, self-evident, Trump is definitely indicating that he is ready to move forward and is committed to an all-out campaign for the White House in 2024. He is sure to wade in, on the events of the days ahead. As his campaign unfolds over the next few months, America will be able to judge for itself – just who will serve us better – A strong America first Trump administration, or a weak and globalist Biden administration. To a rationally thinking person, there really doesn’t seem to be much of a contest.
