Newsom Declares Monkeypox Emergency

Like the boy who cried wolf, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has (D) declared a state of emergency in response to the monkeypox virus, which has thus far mostly affected men who have sex with men. This move follows New York’s declaration last week.

Again, CA stretches out it’s hand, to drain the American taxpayers, begging for increases of vaccine that he gives away for free. Not only that, he again is pandering to the needs/wants of the gay community, in spite of his stated need to reduce, any associated disgrace related to contracting this virus, Newsom wants the U.S. Taxpayers, to both agree with his policies and cough up the vaccines.

Newsom, in a statement on Monday, said California, while combatting any stigma the LGBTQ community might face will be working closely with the federal government to make monkeypox vaccines, more readily available. In his statement he claimed-

“We’ll continue to work with the federal government to secure more vaccines, raise awareness about reducing risk, and stand with the LGBTQ community fighting stigmatization,”

Roughly 800 cases have been reported in California, according to the Associated Press, and is spreading mostly through skin-to-skin contact among men who have sex with men.

Also, the virus can spread through the sharing of bedding, towels, and clothing. Noting that the virus can spread on surfaces used by individuals with monkeypox, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have listed on their website:

Monkeypox spreads in a few ways.

Monkeypox can spread to anyone through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact, including:

  • Direct contact with monkeypox rash, scabs, or body fluids from a person with monkeypox.
  • Touching objects, fabrics (clothing, bedding, or towels), and surfaces that have been used by someone with monkeypox.
  • Contact with respiratory secretions.

This direct contact can happen during intimate contact, including:

  • Oral, anal, and vaginal sex or touching the genitals (penis, testicles, labia, and vagina) or anus (butthole) of a person with monkeypox.
  • Hugging, massage, and kissing.
  • Prolonged face-to-face contact.
  • Touching fabrics and objects during sex that were used by a person with monkeypox and that have not been disinfected, such as bedding, towels, fetish gear, and sex toys.

A pregnant person can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta.

It’s also possible for people to get monkeypox from infected animals, either by being scratched or bitten by the animal or by preparing or eating meat or using products from an infected animal.

Executive director of the County Health Executives Association of California, Michelle Gibbons, said stigma toward individuals infected with monkeypox will only hurt the public health response, emphasizing that anyone can be infected with the virus. She went on to state-

“Public health officials are clear: stigma is unacceptable and counterproductive in public health response,” and “The fact is that monkeypox is primarily spread by skin to skin contact and sharing objects like bedding or towels, without regard to sexual orientation or gender identity.”

As stated here previously – of course let’s look to big government, to fix what some Americans chose to expose themselves to, by way of lifestyle choices. And of course, those same individuals expect the use of our tax dollars to subsidize their aberrant habits, not to mention hide the results of their behaviorisms. That these progressive, far-left “persons” (whatever gender or non-gender they claim), have habitually expected the masses to change, accommodate and pay for the few, is ridiculous. Forced charity never endears anyone.

When will the few, stop expecting the many, to subsidize their choices? These are the same “persons” who reek violence on the many, if they do not receive what they feel they are entitled to. Like petulant children, who have no moral compass, perhaps they should be allowed to reap what they sow, without government assistance.

“A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.”
