Apparently the California voters of San Francisco have finally gotten what they voted for. Workers in the Nancy Pelosi Federal Building in San Francisco have now been told to work from home indefinitely given the crime conditions in the downtown area.
According to SFGATE-
“The building, at the intersection of Seventh and Mission streets, is home to the office of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as well as the local branches of several federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The area around the building has also become a notorious hotspot for open-air drug dealing. “
“According to the San Francisco Chronicle, building workers received a memo penned by Cheryl Campbell — an assistant secretary with the Department of Health and Human Services — on Aug. 4. It advised workers to stay home “for the foreseeable future” because of crime in the area….“In light of the conditions at the (Federal Building) we recommend employees … maximize the use of telework for the foreseeable future,” Campbell wrote in the memo, according to the Chronicle. Campbell also wrote that the recommendation should be extended to building employees who do not currently use work-from-home options.”
“As San Francisco’s fentanyl crisis continues to worsen, city officials are ramping up efforts to crack down on drug dealing, including the formation of a joint task force comprising officials from the San Francisco Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and the California National Guard. Those efforts have yielded mixed results.”
“The memo sent to employees in the Nancy Pelosi Federal Building came just a day after San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins blamed local judges for exacerbating the city’s drug crisis by releasing people accused of offenses before they can go to trial. The district attorney’s office did not reply to an SFGATE request for comment on the memo in time for publication.”
“The decree also came the same day that the Biden administration urged members of the Cabinet to “aggressively execute” plans for all federal employees to spend more time working in the office this fall…“As we look towards the fall, and with the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, your agencies will be implementing increases in the amount of in-person work for your team,” the email read, according to Axios. “This is a priority of the President — and I am looking to each of you to aggressively execute this shift in September and October.”

Reportedly, what’s happening to San Francisco appears to be a choice. This once great city by the bay has been destroyed by a choice made by city and state politicians, together with the voters who elected them. It was a safe and clean city for years, until the left embraced the mentality of the Black Lives Matter wokeness. It was then that San Francisco fell to the vagrants, lawlessness, drugs and filth that is now found rampant there. It is no longer a sought-after tourist destination but rather a place to avoid.

“Cleaning up a city is very simple… You enforce the law and imprison lawbreakers—no sleeping on the sidewalks or in parks. No vagrancy. Lawbreakers are arrested. Bail is required until trial. If the lawbreaker is convicted, he goes to prison. If he’s a multiple offender, he goes to prison for life. There is no secret sauce. It really is that easy. San Francisco Democrats chose the opposite route.”
“Vagrancy is allowed. Open-air drug dealing is allowed. Tent cities in public places are allowed. Criminals are not arrested. If they are, they are released with no bail. If they are convicted, they don’t go to prison. If they go to prison, it’s never for long enough. This mentality not only inspires criminality but it also inspires criminals from outside the city to move to the city. Additionally, San Francisco is a sanctuary city, which means criminal illegal aliens are moving in to sell deadly narcotics like fentanyl.”

The choice that the Democratic left have made, has and continues to destroying every large Democratically-run city in the country, from sea to shining sea. They apparently would rather see their cities destroyed, taken over by what they choose to allow, than ever admitting they were wrong about adopting the sickness, that is their progressive woke agenda.
The really sad part, is the fact that what was once an amazing city by the bay in California, now has local residents hiding at home, vagrants and criminals running free setting up tent cities – if not outright living on the streets in the downtown districts, deficating, panhandling, and largely dealing and taking drugs all day – in the open air, with little to no fear of repercussion.
Little wonder the residents of San Francisco have fled to San Jose’, Sacramento and other regions to get away from this madness. Sadly, these same voters seem to move from city to city, adding beautiful regions to their list of woke ideology and ultimate demise – all under the guise of progressive thought. It’s progressive alright - a pervasive cancer and ultimately a blight on any town they move into.
No wonder the rest of the country is not overjoyed to see anyone from California, readily settle into their state. They don’t want their towns, cities and ultimately their state destroyed by a mentality they have seen demonstrated, that has literally destroyed California. Their hesitance to accept Californians, under the present circumstances, though complex - is very understandable.
