January 6 Committee Report Ignores Pelosi’s Role In Failure to Secure Capitol - Blames Trump Instead

 December 25, 2022

Published Thursday, the “sham” partisan, January 6 Committee’s report, ignored House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) role in the failure to provide enhanced Capitol security before the protest. Preferring to place blame for the riot squarely on former President Donald Trump’s shoulders, they exaggerated the event. The executive summary of the select committee’s report, for example, listed 17 key findings from their investigation. The first 12 zero in on Trump, while the last five focus on security measures and intelligence gathering. Outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), purportedly wrote in the report, ignoring the days and events leading up to January 6 that-

“Trump sat in the dining room off the Oval Office watching the violent riot at the Capitol,”

“During this time, law enforcement agents were attacked and seriously injured, the Capitol was invaded, the electoral count was halted and the lives of those in the Capitol were put at risk,” adding… “In addition to being unlawful, as described in this report, this was an utter moral failure—and a clear dereliction of duty.”

-Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY)

Because of her blind-sighted attack on Trump, as a part of the Jan. 6th committee, Cheney lost her Republican primary in August by nearly 40 points. Her distain for the man can be heard, in even the tone of her voice when she addressed the committee, regarding him.

House Republicans released their own report, on Wednesday, shedding light on how the Capitol’s security was left vulnerable to massive crowds. Their 141-page report explores, at length, the security measures taken (or ignored as the case may be) leading up to the events of January 6, 2021, an issue they say the January 6 committee has “thus far ignored.” The Republican investigative report, serves as a counter document, to the select committee’s conclusive report summarizing its investigation of criminal / ethics violations and their charges as put forward.

According to the Republicans’ report, the Democrat House leadership together with law enforcement leaders, in the Capitol Police, apparently were quite worried about the “optics” of any enhanced Capitol security, before the protest. In their report, the Republicans wrote-

“Leadership and law enforcement failures within the U.S. Capitol left the complex vulnerable on January 6, 2021. The Democrat-led investigation in the House of Representatives, however, has disregarded those institutional failings that exposed the Capitol to violence that day.”

-Report By House Republicans

Apparently, Capitol Police, were given plenty of notice and were made aware of security threats to the Capitol on January 6 dating back to mid-December. The report divulged that-

“Prior to that day, the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) had obtained sufficient information from an array of channels to anticipate and prepare for the violence that occurred.”

-Report By House Republicans

A report was released Wednesday, of findings from an investigation into the U.S. Capitol’s security preparedness ahead of the 2021 riot, was comissioned by the five Republicans initially set to serve on the January 6 select committee. The report was put forward by Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Jim Banks (R-IN),Troy Nehls (R-TX), and Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) — all members whom Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) had originally appointed to the January 6 Committee.

In a historic act of clearly partisan political control, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi purposefully denied the participation of Representatives Jordan and Banks. Later, in protest of Pelosi’s decision to block Jordan and Banks, McCarthy removed all the GOP appointees, calling the committee a “sham”, and refused to participate in it. Of note however, is the fact that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), a self-proclaimed Trump hater, whom McCarthy had not appointed was permitted, even welcomed to stay.

Of their recently released report, Banks indicated that he believes the report, serves as evidence of Pelosi’s “leading role” in the Capitol’s security failures. Banks told Just the News-

“Our report exposes the partisanship, incompetence and indifference that led to the disaster on January 6 and the leading role Speaker Pelosi and her office played in the security failure at the Capitol,”. “Unlike the sham January 6th Committee, House Republicans produced a useful report that will keep Capitol and USCP officers safe with no subpoena power and no budget.”

-Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN)

In an article published by Redstate.com on December 21st, it was reported of the Republicans’ document  -

“The report does not sugarcoat the behavior of pro-Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol.”

“On January 6, 2021, criminal rioters assaulted police officers, broke into the U.S. Capitol, damaged property, and temporarily interfered with the certification of states’ presidential and vice-presidential electors at the Joint Session of Congress — a typically pro forma event,”

“But its most explosive revelations involved text and email messages showing that two key staffers in Pelosi’s office attended regular meetings to discuss the security plan for Jan. 6 dating back to early December 2020 and that Pelosi’s top aide even edited some of the plans. Most of those discussions and meetings excluded Republican lawmakers in the House, the report noted.”

“Then-House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving — who served on the Capitol Police Board by virtue of his position — succumbed to political pressures from the Office of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leadership leading up to January 6, 2021,” the report said. “He coordinated closely with the Speaker and her staff and left Republicans out of important discussions related to security.”

Despite the above and appearing to reject any personal responsibility for the lack of Capitol security, in the January 6 Committee’s report, Pelosi stated the partisan committee-

“succeeded in bringing clarity” to the riot by “investigating the facts, circumstances and causes that led to this domestic terror attack on the Capitol.” Adding that “We owe a debt of gratitude to Chairman Bennie Thompson, Vice Chair Liz Cheney, the patriotic Members of Congress and dedicated staff—who devoted themselves to this investigation, to uncovering the truth and to writing a report that is a ‘Roadmap for Justice,'”

- Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Obviously, the truth was never important to Outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as she did not want to allow anyone on the select committee who might ask hard questions, reason intelligently and find her in some way at fault for mismanaging the January 6, security, which might have saved lives, reduced the events’ impact and prevented her from laying the blame at Trumps feet and not her own. Pelosi is a shrewd woman to be sure, and has shown over and over again, that she is very accomplished at twisting the truth of a matter.

This absolute avoidance of responsibility for Capitol Security, that was hers to control, demonstrates how dangerously unaccountable she really is. Moreover, that she let taxpayers fund her “sham” committee which was televised, and largely scripted (complete with teleprompters) to support the committee in seeming legitimate, to those watching, is reprehensible. The American taxpayers are exhausted with funding the Democrat Party’s pursuit to stop Trump at all cost. Get over yourself Pelosi – America certainly has.
