Hoping to be released into the United States, border crossers, are celebrating President Joe Biden ending the widely successful “Remain in Mexico” program that helped reduce asylum fraud. Biden’s National Security Council officials have also privately warned, that the program’s end will drive up illegal immigration at the southern border even more than current levels. No kidding! How much more can our border states endure?
The Remain in Mexico program, first started by former President Donald Trump in 2019, sought to eliminate asylum fraud and end the practice known as “Catch and Release”. This is the process whereby border crossers / illegal migrants are briefly apprehended, before being released into the U.S. interior, while they await their future asylum hearings.
Ensuring they were not simply released into American communities, with the hope that they would show up to their hearings, the program required border crossers and illegal migrants to wait in Mexico, for their asylum hearings in the U.S. after their arrival at the southern border.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, said he would finally end the program after the Supreme Court as well as a lower court ruled, that Biden could end Remain in Mexico.
The end of this program means thousands of illegal border crossers enrolled in the program will now be released into American communities on a promise to show up for future hearings. They likely will however, disappear instead.
Rather than being returned to Mexico, one illegal border crosser, told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he was “free”, after learning he would be released into the U.S. interior. According to The Union-Tribune he stated-
“In this moment, I am free,” he told the Union-Tribune in Spanish a few minutes after he was officially released from custody. “Before, I was not free.” …“Knowing that I will be able to be here is huge,” … “It’s magnificent.”

The man was among the first migrants released from the program this past week, with the Biden administration’s announcement that the program was ending, following a lengthy legal battle in federal court. However, days later, most of those enrolled in the program are still waiting to be let into the United States.
Though the program, as federal data shows, was hugely successful, in San Diego, California, alone, thousands of border crossers are expected to be released into the U.S. interior, as a result of Biden ending Remain in Mexico.
Of the more than 45,000 Remain in Mexico cases adjudicated since 2019, fewer than 740 migrants have been found to have legitimate asylum claims to remain in the U.S. The latest data indicates that only 1.6 percent of Remain in Mexico migrants, end up having valid asylum claims to stay in the U.S.
Effectively, when their cases can be adjudicated, more than 71 percent of these illegal migrants have been ordered to be deported after failing to show they have legitimate asylum claims. Further more than 23 percent of migrants terminated their asylum proceedings altogether.
Joe Biden and his administration are now officially and directly responsible, for the pure invasion of our southern borders. His bleeding-heart cronies, are not the ones who must suffer the consequences of his horrific policies, that have been deluging the U.S. states along our nations southern border, effectively stripping them of resources, manpower and community services funding. It’s outrageous.
Biden is forcibly, economically-raping our border counties, which are overrun by these illegals, in his hopes they will one day vote Democratic. At present, these illegal migrants will do little to help our economy, but will rather increase our currently ongoing inflation, because of the higher taxes everyone pays to aid these people and the resources they require.
Further, these illegals expect America to provide them with accommodations, health-care and sustenance just by their presentation at the border. Additionally, they seek to take jobs that working-class Americans would have – adding to the U.S. joblessness rate and an increase in America’s working poor. It is a truly horrific mess.
The idea that non-citizens, are held in such higher regard, than actual U.S. citizens, who have lived their whole lives, faithfully paying their taxes, while striving for what they have, is beyond anything this writer can comprehend. America needs to make a choice and begin to take a stand before Comrade Biden mandates more - of the legal U.S. citizenry.
