W.H.O. Warns About Monkeypox. Belgium Confirms Compulsory Lockdown, After Three Reported Cases

On Saturday, the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) weighed in on the growing warning about the rise in monkeypox infections, saying it expects to see more cases, after a handful were detected in Europe and the U.S.

In addressing the outbreak, they said in a statement:

“The situation is evolving and W.H.O. expects there will be more cases of monkeypox identified as surveillance expands in non-endemic countries,”

-World Health Organization

According to the agency, twelve W.H.O. member states have reported cases of monkeypox since May 13. There has been a record of 92 confirmed monkeypox cases with 28 suspected infections globally as of Saturday. Israel is the the latest to report a second confirmed case. These cases do not appear to have established travel connections to endemic populations, and are presently occurring outside of areas of the world where the virus is commonly found.

Symptoms of this viral disease are rashes, fever and swollen lymph nodes and it is stated to be spread by physical contact with individuals who have active symptoms.

No one is calling it life threatening however, but true to form President Joe Biden, on Sunday continuing his Asian tour said “everybody” should be concerned about the recent cases. Adding that-

“They haven’t told me the level of exposure yet, but it is something that everybody should be concerned about,”… “We’re working on it hard to figure out what we do and what vaccine, if any, may be available for it,”…then he added “a concern in the sense that if it were to spread, it’s consequential,”

- President Joe Biden

Obviously, his health advisers have not yet briefed him on the subject. For him to make these overarching statements about something he knows nothing of is sadly typical of Joe Biden. However, from the citizens perspective it seems like just another way to bring attention to yet another virus, for which the government will seek to require restrictive requirements on the U.S. populous. Stay tuned.

American’s are just getting over the fearmongering that occurred with COVID 19, then the Omicron variant and are naturally leery of yet another virus to be concentrated on. Biden would do well to get his facts straight before opening his mouth and letting everyone know just how much he doesn’t know. It’s embarrassing, and on the world stage too.

It is tragic that our commander in chief, is so “out there” with possible misinformation before having been briefed (or even studied the facts) on the medical impact of this ordinarily mild virus. And of course, they are “working hard” to figure out what to do. They are” working hard” on skyrocketing inflation, the border crisis, infant formula shortages, off the chart gas prices, and so much more. Where has all this work gotten the American taxpayer? Largely, in a hole as American’s struggle to survive.

Please stop the power-posturing, baloney filled rhetoric and tell America if there is really an outbreak and if it should concern us. U.S. Citizens deserve some straight answers, not the fearmongering “what ifs”.

According to Wikipedia-

"Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus that can occur in certain animals, including humans. Symptoms begin with fever, headache, muscle pains, swollen lymph nodes, and feeling tired. This is followed by a rash that forms blisters and crusts over. The time from exposure to onset of symptoms is around 10 days. The duration of symptoms is typically two to four weeks.

Monkeypox may be spread from handling bushmeat (meat of African wild animals), an animal bite or scratch, body fluids, contaminated objects, or close contact with an infected person. The virus normally circulates among certain rodents. Diagnosis can be confirmed by testing a lesion for the virus's DNA. The disease can appear similar to chickenpox."

Following the “body fluids” concept, as a means to spread the disease, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and infection, and the U.K.’s Health Security Agency are currently looking into a range of cases among individuals who “identify themselves as men who have sex with men.”

According to the Daily Mail, Belgium has become the first country to introduce a compulsory 21-day monkeypox quarantine. Persons who contract the virus will now have to self-isolate for three weeks. Incidentally, this stringent requirement was enacted after just three cases were recorded in the country.

Again, without a lot of hype – America just needs the facts. It will be interesting to see how the leftist democrats spin this problem. Perhaps the presence of this virus is another right-winged conspiracy? Who really knows how this will play out. Rest assured, Jo Biden will have more tenuous, incomplete and likely fear producing statements ahead.
