U.S. Energy Department Report Says Most Likely Source of Global Coronavirus Pandemic Was Lab Leak

 February 27, 2023

A U.S. Energy Department classified intelligence report, now before the White House and key Congress members sets out, that the coronavirus pandemic most likely began with a laboratory leak.  On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal reported the Energy Department’s revised assessment of the pandemic’s origins is based on fresh intelligence, noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office.

While the investigation is ongoing, The WSJ further states that more authorities are coming to the lab leak hypothesis, however there is as yet no unanimous decision. According to the WSJ

“This new report highlights how different parts of the intelligence community have arrived at disparate judgments about the pandemic’s origin. The Energy Department now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory.”… Four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel, still judge that it was likely the result of a natural transmission, and two are undecided.”

It further, goes on to say, that the Energy Department made its judgment with “low confidence.” This is according to people who have read the classified report. However, as previously covered in a Breitbart News piece, the conclusion, does align with previous speculation about the exact origin of the virus.

Back in May of 2021, according to a then, WSJ report-

“Three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care, according to a previously undisclosed U.S. intelligence report that could add weight to growing calls for a fuller probe of whether the Covid-19 virus may have escaped from the laboratory.”

Noting that the lab leak hypothesis was “always reasonable” but was quickly denounced, as a conspiracy theory, by “reporters & activists in white lab coats.” Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) added-

“The common-sense case for a lab leak is the same as it was in January 2020, when I first mentioned the possibility,”

-Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR)

Others have now agreed the Biden administration would be remiss not to investigate the Wuhan laboratory as a source of the deadly release. Reportedly, however, U.S. officials have declined to give details on the fresh intelligence and analysis that led the Energy Department to change its position. According to the WSJ, the Energy Department and the FBI each say now, that an unintended lab leak is most likely the cause, apparently arriving at those conclusions for different reasons.

“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
