Trump On Potential DeSantis 2024 Run: ‘It’s His Prerogative. I Think I Would Win’

Weighing in on the chatter about the possibility of another presidential bid, Former President Donald Trump and said he is unsure if Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) will throw his hat in the ring. However, Trump expressed confidence, predicting ultimately, that he would defeat his political ally.

Trump has hinted at a Trump-Biden rematch on several occasions over the past year and a half. He reportedly told the New Yorker he is “very close to making a decision” about running in 2024. However, as far back as December of 2020, Trump told Republicans at the White House Christmas party,-

“We’re trying to do another four years. Otherwise, I’ll see you in four years.”

At this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, Trump hinted yet again:

“And this is some crowd. We broke the record again, but they’re going to find out the hard way starting on November 8, and then again even more so on November 2024,”adding “They will find out like never before we did it twice. And we’ll do it again. We’re going to be doing it again. A third time,”

Dropping another hint, the following month, during a Georgia rally, he told the crowd-

“And now we just may have to do it again.”

While polls continue to suggest that Donald Trump is dominating in a hypothetical 2024 Republican primary field, a far-distant second, Ron DeSantis, continues to advance. DeSantis though has not indicated that he plans to run for president, focusing on his reelection in the midterms.

Though Trump has not declared himself, as yet, he clearly is interested with regard to DeSantis plans, telling the New Yorker –

“I don’t know if Ron is running, and I don’t ask him,” Trump told them. “It’s his prerogative. I think I would win.”

Both DeSantis and Trump have dispelled rumors of infighting between the two over the past year. DeSantis’s office, in January, dismissed the establishment media’s rumors of infighting as “baseless stories”, stating they are-

“merely attempts by corporate media activists to distract from Biden administration failures.”

According to Breitbart News, Christina Pushaw, Governor DeSantis Press Secretary explained…

“As the governor said when asked about the rumors last week, ‘This is what the media does.’ And, as President Trump mentioned last night on Hannity, Gov. DeSantis has always said that media narratives cannot get in the way of their friendship,” and more directly-

“This is what the media does.”… “All these anonymously sourced and baseless stories, are merely attempts, by corporate media activists to distract from Biden administration failures,”

A White House run in 2024 by either of these men, or as a team frankly would be welcome news. There are no others, in recent history who have withstood more on behalf of truth and freedom. The circumstances are too many to count – yet they are still standing for freedom and putting America, her citizens and her founding principles first. A wildly novel concept to the left, who sees either of them as a threat to their socialist agenda.

It would be hard to not wish them to run as an unbeatable team, so as not to have to choose between two very smart, talented, patriotic and dedicated men. Just the thought restores a ray of hope, in a very difficult moment in American history.

“The clock is running make the most of today Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift - that is why it is called the present”.
