Trump and Epstein statues reappear at National Mall after being removed

 October 3, 2025

The National Mall couldn’t get any more dramatic. Statues of President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein have staged a comeback, stirring up a hornet’s nest of controversy.

The Hill reported that these peculiar monuments, first spotted in late September and then removed, have returned to the iconic Washington, D.C., space, drawing attention amid political friction over the Trump administration’s handling of Epstein-related information.

Late September saw these statues pop up on the Mall, only to be swiftly taken down after the U.S. Park Police declared them non-compliant with regulations. It’s unclear who’s behind this encore performance, but the timing couldn’t be more eyebrow-raising.

Statues Return Amid Political Tensions

Adding a layer of irony, a plaque nestled between the statues proclaims, “In Honor of Friendship Month.” If that’s not a head-scratcher in light of Epstein’s notorious past as a convicted sex offender, I don’t know what is.

The Trump administration, already under fire from both sides of the aisle for its approach to Epstein-related disclosures, hardly needs this visual reminder fueling the flames. Critics are pouncing, while supporters argue it’s just another distraction from real policy issues.

Then there’s the plaque’s inscription, which reads in part, “We celebrate the long-lasting bond” between Trump and Epstein. That’s a bold claim, especially when history shows a more complicated picture of their association. Let’s not forget, Trump distanced himself from Epstein well before the worst of the scandals broke.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson didn’t mince words in a statement to The Hill, saying, “Liberals are free to waste their money however they see fit.” She’s got a point—spending cash on statues to make a political jab seems like a questionable priority when there are bigger fish to fry.

Jackson also noted that Trump “kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.” That’s a detail often buried under the progressive agenda’s narrative, and it’s worth remembering when dissecting this so-called “friendship.”

Meanwhile, the political theater extends beyond the Mall, with recent Capitol Hill drama tied to Epstein’s shadow. On a recent Tuesday, Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republican leaders turned down Democratic requests to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva of Arizona.

Capitol Hill Drama Over Epstein Files

This move wasn’t just procedural—it blocked a key signature needed for a petition to force the Justice Department to release all Epstein files. Democrats are fuming, claiming transparency is at stake.

Rep.-elect Grijalva will be sworn in once the House reconvenes for regular session, but the delay has already ruffled feathers. It’s a classic Washington standoff, with both sides digging in over what’s really a matter of public trust.

Back to the statues, their reappearance feels like a deliberate poke at conservatives who are already weary of the left’s obsession with tying Trump to Epstein. The narrative often ignores context, focusing instead on cheap optics.

Let’s be clear: Epstein’s crimes are horrific, and no one disputes the need for accountability. But dragging Trump into the spotlight with provocative art installations risks diluting the focus on actual justice for victims.

The National Mall, a place meant to honor America’s history and heroes, shouldn’t be a canvas for political stunts. If there’s a genuine call for truth, let’s see it through proper channels, not sidewalk sculptures.
