According to the Secret Service, a substance, initially found in the West Wing of the White House on Sunday, has tested positive as cocaine. Initially the cocaine was found by a member of the Secret Service, sparking an evacuation of the building and emergency response measures.
The area that the substance was found in, is reportedly an area of the West Wing that is used by both guests and staff alike. On site emergency measures included calling a hazmat team, evacuation of the complex, and then closure of the White House with the Secret Service blocking roads surrounding the area.
In a statement to Fox News, the U.S. Secret Service said-
"On Sunday evening, the White House complex went into a precautionary closure as officers from the Secret Service Uniformed Division investigated an unknown item found inside a work area,"… "The DC Fire Department was called to evaluate and quickly determined the item to be non-hazardous."

The field test done on-site, had indicated that the substance found was cocaine. Then on Wednesday, a full test of the substance confirmed that it was positive for the drug, according to a spokesperson for the Secret Service.
Reportedly, at the time of the discovery of the substance, President Biden and members of his family were at Camp David. Also at Camp David at the time of the discovery, was the president's son, Hunter, who is a recovered crack cocaine addict.
Officials have said the investigation into who brought the drug into the White House, is ongoing. However, they did say that because the baggie containing the cocaine - is so small, it might not be detected on any video footage they may be reviewing. Further they indicated that they are searching the bag for evidence of finger prints and / or DNA, otherwise finding the means by which the cocaine was left at the White House, is unlikely.
