On Monday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) GA announced, that she was writing legislation to defund the special counsel investigation against former President Donald Trump. Greene tweeted-
“This morning, I’m writing an appropriations rider to DEFUND Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office and entire investigation,”

Greene also pledged to vote against any appropriations bill that funded the “weaponization of government.” As such, she stated –
“I will not vote for ANY appropriations bill to fund the weaponization of government,” she added. “I hope every one of my Republican colleagues will join me.”

Greens response comes after Smith, last Thursday, charged former President Trump with 31 separate counts of alleged willful retention of national defense information, under the Espionage Act. This is the first time in history, that any president has been charged with violating the Espionage Act.
The charges came the same day that James Comer, Chair of the House Oversight Committee had gained access, for Republicans, to the subpoenaed FBI document called an FD 10-23. In the document, a “highly credible” informant alleged that President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, were engaged in a bribery scheme with a Ukrainian executive, where they would allegedly both be paid $5 million each.
Since the indictment, there have been a rising number of calls from commentators, on the right, for Republicans to impeach Biden. Greene, herself has been one of the few House Republicans, calling for Biden’s impeachment since the beginning of his administration. Greene renewed those calls, after the special counsel indicted Trump.
In an earlier article published by Breitbart, The Federalist’s Executive Editor, Joy Pullman said in her journalistic piece entitled - “It’s Past Time for Republicans to Impeach Biden and All His Top Officials,” that-
“If Republicans actually care about the rule of law, their oaths to the Constitution, the American people, and preserving the best country in the world, they will treat this as a five-alarm constitutional crisis and respond accordingly. That means immediately moving to impeach Biden and his entire cabinet, among other strong political choices designed to make unhinged Democrats stop turning this great country into an authoritarian dumpster fire.”
“There is no other way. We are in this situation precisely because of Republicans’ weak and ineffective response to decades of Democrats using the Constitution as so much toilet paper, and aggressively shredding the political, legal, and cultural norms required to preserve a self-governing republic. Republicans need to be done posturing on TV and conducting impotent years-long investigations that result in no corrupt bureaucrats’ heads rolling while continuing legislatively to meet Democrats halfway to insanity.”

“Our freedoms are vanishing. If you do not get active to take a stand now against all that is wrong while we still can, then maybe one of your children may elect to do so in the future, when it will be far more riskier, and and much, much harder.”
