As the midterm elections approach and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) thinks of turning over her gavel, the fearmongering begins. With the press corps granting her an early opportunity to feed their likely frenzy over the upcoming elections, Pelosi stated in her interview with Time Magazine recently that she feared for American democracy if Republicans won the majority in the House of Representatives this November.
Apparently, she likes the power she has enjoyed while presiding over the wildest liberal House of Representatives in American history. This progressively run body of legislators has shown no fiscal restraint, has saddled US generations with decades of debt and continues to support the flooding of our borders. The record they have to run on this fall, with Biden as their standard bearer should prove fascinating. As record numbers of Democratic Representatives retire to avoid the inevitable Pelosi still ignores reality.
When asked by the interviewer “How do you see the midterms going, and what do you see as the potential consequences if the Democrats lose Congress?” Pelosi replied, “I don’t have any intention of the Democrats losing the Congress in November” adding “It is absolutely essential for our democracy that we win. I fear for our democracy if the Republicans were ever to get the gavel. We can’t let that happen. Democracy is on the ballot in November.” Correction Nancy, the House Record is on the ballot in November.
She continued to postulate that redistricting would actually help them pick up more seats adding, “If anything, we’ll pick up seats rather than lose 10 to 15, which conventional wisdom said that we would. There’s nothing conventional anymore, and it certainly ain’t wisdom.”
Speaker Pelosi is right in that Democrats don’t use conventional means when they are applying wisdom – which they sorely lack. Like their leader Joe Biden, they have to make it up as they go along, deflecting from their record. If Democrats hope voters will not be looking at their record when they cast their votes this fall, they are sadly mistaken. The price of freedom, the tangible losses America has faced under their leadership, as well as the liquification of the US population and our rights as citizens will be speaking loud and clear.
Get ready to hand that gavel over Nancy.
