In an effort to make his point with the state legislature of Oklahoma, State Rep. Mickey Dollens (D-OK) called for mandatory vasectomies for young men in order to showcase Republicans’ “absurd” banning of women’s abortions. He stated-
“HB4327 allows people to sue doctors for performing an abortion and defines life at the moment of ‘fertilization.’ Here’s an idea: mandatory vasectomies — if signed into law would be the first Oklahoma statute to control the male reproductive system,”….adding “No more unwanted pregnancies,”

This ridiculous statement was made while speaking at a meeting of the Oklahoma state legislature Thursday, as law makers were debating a law to effectively banning abortion from the moment of “fertilization,”.
During the debate, Rep. Dollens, attempting to make his point invited GOP lawmakers to-
“co-author a bill that I’m considering next year that would mandate that each male when they reach puberty get a mandatory vasectomy that’s only reversible when they reach the point of financial and emotional stability.”

Further, he called the GOP out for not addressing contributory factors such as family planning, birth control, sex education and a viable wage. Noting that the timing of the legislation, was related to the current fall primaries, he went so far as to call the recent abortion law an “attempt for cheap political points in a competitive primary” urging lawmakers to “vote no” on the abortion bill.
Additionally, in an appearance on MSNBC’s The Katie Phang Show this past Sunday, Dollens lamented that Oklahoma’s GOP supermajority that is getting “more and more extreme.” He also added that-
“The party of so-called limited government and personal freedom has become the party of intrusion,”…adding that his proposal is intended to “fight fire with fire” (by demonstrating)“how absurd and ridiculous it is to regulate one’s bodily autonomy.”
Dollens also warned that-
“if one Republican-controlled state [passes restrictive reproduction laws], then Oklahoma will be the next one to file that exact same model legislation.”

This political stunt comes on the heels of the Oklahoma House passing a bill Thursday that nearly outlaws all abortions in the event the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, an eminent possibility.
While the creativity of Rep. Dollens is commendable, his logic misses the point entirely. The ability to procreate is not what should be limited, the ability to be irresponsible and take a human life to negate one’s responsibility should be.
At 34 years old, I’m sure “boy meets girl” is something Dollens clearly understands. What escapes he and his progressively liberal, leftist democratic party, is the fact that this ability to participate in the creation of life, does not relieve the participants from the outcome – a beating heart.
Scientifically, life does begin at “fertilization” (or conception) – a scientific fact and not mere conjecture or political power posturing. Therefore, to enter into the female reproductive tract that is a developing baby’s safe haven, with the intent of destroying the developing life or taking a drug to do the same – is attempted or premeditated murder of a human being.
Anyone who has seen an abortion cannot deny the presence of a human being present as their life is being ended. If America wants to think soberly on this matter, each citizen who claims to be pro-choice needs to view the process the child goes through in being eradicated. It is horrific.
Maybe a child was unwanted, but the participants, in most cases, are not considering this in the heat of the moment. Again, procreation is not the issue – sexual conduct that expects another (the developing life) to pay for the indiscretion of two consenting adults (in most cases) is the issue. This is why Roe V Wade is so heinous in that its legislated freedom from responsibility , under the guise of reproductive choice, at the cost of now 61 plus million lives since 1973.
Further, it was promoted then and has come to be known for the ensuing years as “termination of the products of conception”. Never was it clearly promoted as choosing to kill a developing child (with a heartbeat) or likely a vast number of sexually active adults would not have selfishly proceeded. Today it is a form of birth control. If it is not born - it has been controlled.
Is this what our founders envisioned for America? According to the US Declaration of independence, those wise souls from our past declared-
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”

Sadly, these words fall on deaf ears with those who support the modern-day democratic party. Rep. Dollens party is all about – selfishness, irresponsible behavior that the rest of society literally needs to pay for, with a fierce tenacity to sideline anyone who disagrees or gets in their way, They are the “I” – “me” – “my” political party, the woke generation that has to have that which it demands. As a collective, they seek to abolish the family unit or distort it for their own perverse sexual agendas, even calling for the acceptance of pedophilia.
Democrats hide their largely, self-focused agenda with the deceptive appearance of being altruistic - shouting together in one determined voice : pro-choice, black lives matter, racial discrimination, de-fund police, parents are wrong and are to be dismissed, children belong to the state, guns kill, and the list goes on and on.
In doing so, they can claim less and less responsibility for their choices – preferring to bask in what they call the “freedoms they enjoy” at the ultimate cost to someone else. Take a topic and explore it. At its’ core you will find their pridefully driven, selfishly manifested, genuine desire to obtain whatever seems pleasing to them at someone else’s expense. This is what years of observing this group of individuals develop/mature in their thinking and actions has amounted to.
The liberal left wants absolute power to establish personal freedom from their actions, regardless of the cost. And when they are asked to be accountable for anything; overspending, contracting with a college for tuition loans, paying their own way in life by the sweat of their brow, showing deference to others or taking responsibility for an unplanned pregnancy – they fight like rabid dogs to keep their bone.
Where does it end? Hopefully, it begins with the repeal of Roe V Wade, the enactment of responsible human life protection laws by the states and a collective restraint on personal irresponsibility that creates a drain on society as a whole. It ends with the brave souls of America standing in the gap for those with no voice and taking back the collective freedoms lost by the selfishness of the few. Standing a post is never easy or popular but without this relative constraint on selfishness, this nation will continue down the path of anarchy – one beating heart at a time.
