Alex Fraser, renowned for his expertise and leadership across multiple media companies, including Red Arrow Studios and Sky Vision, has died at 54.
Deadline reported that Fraser passed away in his London home earlier this month after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Fraser's influence spanned nearly a quarter-century in the dynamic field of media acquisitions, distribution, and consultancy. Initially building his career at Eagle Rock Entertainment and IMG Media, he eventually moved into prominent roles at international media powerhouses.
Before his tenure at Red Arrow Studios and Sky Vision, Fraser developed a substantial portfolio at IMG Media. His roles there laid the groundwork for his later achievements in media distribution and acquisitions.
At IMG, Fraser met Henrik Pabst, who recalls the inception of their friendship fondly. "I met Alex 20 years ago at IMG Media and from minute one, he was supportive and welcoming," Pabst shared, emphasizing Fraser's personal warmth and professional acumen.
"His view on life and work topics helped me often to see clearer. Thank you, Alex," said Pabst, highlighting not just his professional abilities but his impact.
Fraser was known for his strategic mind, particularly in financing European co-productions in both scripted and unscripted categories.

During his time at Sky Vision and later Red Arrow Studios, Fraser established himself as a key figure in dealing with complex deals that spurred significant growth for these companies.
Niki Page, one of Fraser’s colleagues at both companies, praised his vast network and deal-making prowess: "I knew Alex on both a professional and personal level, and he was a truly exceptional person," she stated.
Fraser was also a regular fixture at major industry events like MIPTV and MIPCOM. His presence at these gatherings was not just professional but profoundly personal, often coloring these high-stakes environments with his unique brand of humor and insight.
"Alex was one of these rare souls, very funny and cynically sharp, yet with a heart of half of the size of his body," reflected Pabst, recalling their times together with affection.
"Hanging out with him on the Autobahn at Cologne Carnival or laughing and gossiping over a good meal somewhere on this planet will never be forgotten. I will miss you, my dear friend," Pabst added.
Niki Page noted Fraser's uncanny ability to keep up with the ever-shifting dynamics of the media world. "He was a font of industry knowledge — knowing who worked where, who bought what, and who might be in line to make the next big move," she said.

"He knew everyone and his presence was essential at enthusiast events like MIPTV and MIPCOM," he added, highlighting Fraser's influential role in these arenas.
