According to KOB4, in Albuquerque New Mexico, while conservative political commentator, Tomi Lahren was scheduled to speak at the University of New Mexico, Thursday night, a large crowd of protesters were upset that she was on campus, during the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, according to Maddie Pukite, UNM student and managing editor at the Daily Lobo. Apparently, Lahren, has stirred up controversy with past statements about the Black Lives Matter movement and immigration.
Lahren was invited, as a guest speaker by, the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) student chapter at UNM. While she was speaking for TPUSA, a mob of leftist students, attacked the campus event, resulting in the state police being called to the scene. In her comments relating to the event, Lahren criticized the University, for not caring about the danger she and her audience were exposed to. She said-
“Never mind me, you do have your tuition-paying students that were in that room to listen to a speaker, and they were in danger. We were all in danger,”

Heard shouting “Shut it down” and “Fuck Turning Point”, the leftist mob of protesters, can be seen in a video, that showed them trying to push their way into the event venue. All this was happening, while campus police officers tried to keep them out. According to a report by KRQE News, inside the venue, another officer held the doors closed. Eventually, New Mexico State Police were called to the scene, and event organizers ended the speech early due to safety issues.
Lahren explained in a video after the incident –
“It turned violent,” and “They started pushing the officers that were guarding the door, trying to bust in the door.”…continuing “Then at one point, they almost made it through the door,” adding… “Not nearly enough officers were present. I don’t think anybody knew it was going to be this bad. But then someone pulled the fire alarm. Alarms were going off everywhere”…and “I was escorted away, for my safety, by officers,”

Lahren, clearly accused officials there, of not caring that-
“that students’ lives were in danger.” Adding…“Guests’ lives were in danger,” and continuing “Never mind me, you do have your tuition-paying students that were in that room to listen to a speaker, and they were in danger. We were all in danger.” …“The State Police had to be called,”… adding that “The emergency unit had to be called in, because that’s how bad it got. And we were barricaded in the kitchen for probably about a half an hour to 45 minutes.”

An image of what appeared to be damage done, to a wall by the protesters, was also posted. Charlie Kirk, the Founder and President of Turning Point USA, a national student movement, dedicated to identifying, organizing, and empowering young .. apparently told Breitbart News-
“When you damage property, when you try and barge through a door blocked by police officers, when you threaten violence against our TPUSA students and speaker, you’re not a protester, you’re a criminal and you should be arrested,”

Apparently, free speech is just a bunch of words, to these protestors, who obviously did not care that their aggressive behavior was, preventing a clearly sanctioned event to move forward. Hypocrisy, and not free speech, is the hallmark of the woke leftists, who cannot face the truth, using brute force to destroy property and endanger lives – all to make their sentiments known. Honest debate is not something that they are capable of. Truly, having a conservative opinion is risky business in todays culture. The attack on this event, is one more affirmation, of how far out of control, society as a whole has gotten.
