Judicial Watch has taken legal action against the Department of Homeland Security over undelivered documents related to Governor Tim Walz's alleged ties with the Chinese Communist Party.
Breitbart reported that the conservative watchdog organization filed the lawsuit this past Thursday. They are demanding the release of records that could allegedly reveal a deep state cover-up regarding Governor Walz's relationship with the CCP.
The FOIA request targeted communications from the DHS Microsoft Teams group chat titled "NST NFT Bi-Weekly Sync," spanning from July 1, 2024, to the present.
These documents are believed to contain crucial details about Governor Walz's activities and associations related to the Chinese government.
Furthermore, Judicial Watch is seeking access to all Intelligence Information Reports and Regional Intelligence Notes issued from November 1, 2023, concerning Governor Walz. The organization also requested details on all federal agency referrals regarding the governor, aiming to uncover any hidden attempts by the Chinese Communist Party to influence him.
A whistleblower from Homeland Security had previously alerted the House Oversight Committee about potential influence attempts by the CCP on Governor Walz.
According to the whistleblower, these attempts aimed to position Walz as a favorable figure who could eventually bring CCP interests to Washington, D.C.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer relayed the whistleblower's concerns, stating that Governor Walz was pinpointed by the CCP as "someone they can get to DC." This claim underlines the alleged strategic intentions of the Chinese Communist Party in fostering relations with American political figures.
The whistleblower further disclosed that officials from DHS's Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) had pursued investigative and intelligence activities linked to the CCP, the state of Minnesota, and specifically, Governor Walz.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton expressed his frustration with the ongoing secrecy. He argued that there is a "massive cover-up" regarding the depth of Governor Walz's ties with the Chinese Communist Party. Fitton urged Secretary Noem to expedite the release of the requested records in response to the Judicial Watch's lawsuit.
Moreover, Peter Schweizer, an author known for his investigations into political corruption, has accused China of "grooming" Walz for future influence.
He shared an anecdote of Walz's visit to China in 2016, where Chinese officials purportedly demonstrated extensive knowledge of Walz's past visits to the country, suggesting a long-term tracking by Chinese intelligence.
During this visit, according to Schweizer, Walz had a telling interaction with Chinese Premier Li. He recounted how Walz discussed the human rights situation in both countries, seemingly equating the moral standing of the United States with that of China. This behavior, Schweizer argued, is indicative of the subtle influence tactics employed by the Chinese government.
The unfolding legal battle and the associated allegations have thrust Governor Walz into a concerning spotlight.
Should the documents sought by Judicial Watch be released, they might offer a clearer picture of the extent and nature of Walz's contacts with Chinese officials and their potential implications for U.S. political dynamics.
This lawsuit not only stresses the need for transparency in governmental actions but also raises questions about foreign influence in U.S. politics. As the case progresses, it could potentially have significant repercussions for Governor Walz's political future and broader U.S. policy toward China.
The case filed by Judicial Watch is therefore closely watched by political analysts and policymakers alike, as it could reveal new facets of international relations and internal security protocols within the United States.
