On a Fox News segment, constitutional attorney and former member of the Trump transition team, Mark Smith, weighs in on the appointment of former President Donald Trump's “special master” in the Mar-a-Lago investigation. Smith postulates that he “doesn’t believe” that Trump will ultimately be charged with a crime, but that Trump will (as well as Republicans seeking seats in the mid-tern) be haunted by the repeatedly slanted media coverage of the Mar-a-Lago event.
Casting doubt, may be all that the Democrats can do, the question is - will it be enough? Republicans need to stick to the state of the country under Biden, message, while Trump’s “special master” proceeds to clarify for the American people – what the FBI actually perpetrated on him in this raid.
The conversation goes on to discuss the raid, the open warrant the FBI was seemingly following, and the items taken such a medical-records, taxes and the like - that had little to do with classified document mismanagement. They were clearly on a fishing event.
Smith goes on to describe the 4th amendment violations, that this raid represents, but focused on the fact that because of who Trump is, this speculation regarding improprieties will be kept alive, in the media for some time to come. Obviously, the left hopes to question his credibility with voters and ultimately keep him from running in 2024. Stay Tuned.
