Hunter Biden Pleads Not Guilty After Plea Deal Falls Apart

 July 27, 2023

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden pled not guilty to gun and tax charges, refusing to accept a new plea deal laid out by prosecutors. Seemingly, the original plea deal fell apart after the judge questioned if it covered future potential charges of the Justice Department’s ongoing investigation. The hearing ended with Hunter Biden ultimately pleading not guilty.

Reportedly, prosecution said that the deal did not include any alleged Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violations. Apparently Hunter and his legal team believed that he would be exempt from any further charges – related to the deal he was offered.

According to a CNN report, the court took a ten-minute recess, to determine if the two sides could quickly come to an agreement. When the conversation seemingly got back on track, reports indicated that the deal would “be more limited in scope.” Ultimately, the new deal or the newly clarified deal only includes specific charges related to tax and gun wrong-doing. According to the outlet –

“The two sides have agreed that this deal does not shield him from potential future charges,”

Reportedly, the news media inside the courthouse, stated that the judge said, she was not ready to accept the plea deal and asked both the prosecutor and Hunter Biden’s legal team to submit additional briefs. Both parties will have to return to the court in the future, to defend their additional briefs.

In an interview with CNN, Sen. Josh Hawley said that the high court drama shows the plea “sweetheart” deal was flawed, and additional charges could be brought. He reportedly said-

“It’s very telling that the judge intervened here and said basically, ‘No, I’m not going to approve some sweeping blanket deal.’ … I mean, that tells you the court has serious concerns about other potential charges here, and also the scope of the deal, which has seemed outrageous from the beginning”… adding “This, I think, signals that they’re [sic] still very much potential for prosecution forward,”

In July, U.S. prosecutor David Weiss admitted that the FBI informant form, alleging the Biden family bribes, is part of an ongoing investigation. It remains to be seen what the actual investigation looks like.

Determining what the deal actually includes and excludes is important, because of the present IRS whistleblower allegations. They contend that FARA violations were a part of the Hunter Biden criminal probe, warranting a special counsel. Reportedly, in exchange for Hunter Biden’s pleading guilty to the misdemeanor charges, Hunter was thought to be exempt from further prosecution. Now, it turns out, the judge is not simply satisfied to just play ball.

Essentially, now that the judge, has forced further explanation – it would seem that Hunter Biden has lost the deal of the century. As this new shake-up seems to have taken hold, the truth seems closer to finding it’s way into light. Time will tell.

“The truth does not require a majority to prevail, ladies and gentlemen. The truth is its own power. The truth will out. Never forget that.”
