To self-immolate (to set oneself on fire) is the most extreme form of personal protest possible by humankind. That is not a word combination nor act one sees every day. In fact, other than in pagan worship or under severe protests it is extremely rare. Most people, when they are upset about life, do not seek to be the center of attention, however that is what happened this week outside of the Supreme Court building. This man died believing someone’s unverifiable cause.
50-year-old Wynn Bruce of Boulder, Colorado was apparently determined to bring attention to his belief in the environmental / climate crisis, as discussed by a tweet by his stated friend, Dr. Kriee K., a Zen Buddhist priest and senior scientist at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF).
According to an incident report, at around 6PM Friday, the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) were called to respond to Bruce’s act of self-sacrifice. The MPD, Supreme Court Police, and Capitol Police responded to the scene. After being life flighted to a local hospital, Bruce died of his injuries.
The religious tenants of global warming and climate crisis that cannot be proven by any genuinely measurable scientific means, cost this man his mental health and his life. What a national tragedy. Where are those who promote this cultic twaddle? Who else is going to line up to torch their life to follow the emotionally charged rhetoric they spout?
America wouldn’t see the Al Gores of this world laying down their life for much of anything, yet they put together a form of religious cult threatening the mental state of people like Mr. Bruce. Those leftists like Gore and Obama who live to talk in aggrandizing terms about environmental devastation, should be held accountable for the fearmongering they instill in the lives of those who really believe their stories and or predictions of future desolation.
Worse yet, those other climate activists, who have been lulled into believing the same religion, are heralding Bruce a martyr. His faith was in what he was indoctrinated about this religion America has come to know as climate change/global warming and or environmental crisis. Bruce, for good or ill was misled into thinking he died for the cause.
However, his death while effective in removing one more sad and grieving activist from the planet, did nothing to resolve the fanatical claims fed by the liberal lefts aggressively intimidating stance. In fact, they are using this poor man’s heartfelt delusion to build public support for their cause. Not only does he die for their propaganda but he is now a stumbling block to others.
Finally, let’s be rational – a man who is trying to get others to not destroy the planet using fossil fuels, lights himself with fire from what - an electrically generated windmill? Of course, not – he used fossil fuel. What form of reverse logic is this? This loss of life, should shake the conscience of America to the core – not for a planet that is in horrible shape but for the control that the left unashamedly has on such tender-hearted victims as Wynn Bruce. The message he has sent regarding the state of the liberal left, who led him down this path, should give every citizen pause.
