GOP Whip Emmer Says “Children Are Disappearing, People Are Getting Killed”, Calls For Mayorkas Impeachment

On Friday, Tom Emmer (R) MN), House Majority Whip, called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to be impeached. In his remarks Emmer said, that Mayorkas “failure to act” necessitates Congress remove him from his position. And because Mayorkas has not resigned yet - “he should be impeached,”

In an interview, on Friday, with Breitbart News, reportedly Emmer dug into the heated topic of impeachment, saying the overwhelmed U.S. southern border represents the “greatest malfeasance” at the hands of President Joe Biden’s top border official. According to the outlet Emmer said-

“They talk about being humane. Children are disappearing. People are getting killed,”… “You’ve got 80 people that have come across the southern border that are on the terrorist watch list.” …“This, to me, is the greatest malfeasance, and malfeasance is — it’s not a failure to act — it’s an intentional failure to act. Mayorkas should be impeached,”… “I think we should be talking seriously about that regardless of what this feckless Senate might want to do.”

Emmer’s comments came the day after Biden allowed the Title 42 border barrier expire. The mandate was one of the last tools, left from the pandemic, that was working to stem the tide of illegal migrants. This rebuke of Mayorkas is the GOP leadership’s strongest statement yet, regarding the border chief. It also serves as an escalation from earlier this year, when Emmer talked of impeachment saying that, it was merely “possible” given the surging illegal migration that had occurred since Biden took office.

When asked now, on taking such an escalated step against Mayorkas, Emmett restated his remarks calling for impeachment. He also acknowledged that while some of his colleagues may have “constitutional disagreements” over whether impeachment is the appropriate action, he believes that, “actual law and the precedent that’s been set” indicates that impeachment is the next action. Emmett said-

“I know that we’re going to have members — much like other constitutional disagreements we’ve had, there’s probably going to be a member who says … who’s a stickler about high crimes and misdemeanors,”…adding… “I believe if you look at the actual law and the precedent that’s been set — and forget about the phony impeachment stuff that the Democrats have been doing for political stunts — this one’s a real, real issue. You can see the pictures live every day. You have an administration and an idiot that’s in charge of the border. I don’t know where 85,000 children went.”…“Please,” “It’s time for him to go. He should do the honorable thing and resign. He won’t. Therefore, he should be impeached.”

Just this week Rep. Lisa McClain (R) MI strongly called for DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas to be impeached, in her heated statements before the house floor. She reasoned that one needs to see that there is a problem, to be able to correct it. She added that Mayorkas refuses to even acknowledge that there is a problem – and the House needs to correct the problem by impeaching him.

Also, previously commenting that the Biden administration has “blood on their hands,” in a statement made by Emmett, his conclusion, regarding the gravity of the situation, matched that of Rep. Michael McCaul (R) TX, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. On Thursday, McCaul told reporters minutes after the House passed the Republicans’ border security bill, that-

“Mayorkas is guilty of child abuse, in my opinion, by not vetting the sponsors of the parents, supposedly, or sponsors of these children”

Reportedly, Speaker of the House, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R) CA also weighed in saying –

“The one thing I’ve always said is we’re not like Democrats; we don’t do impeachment just for political purposes,” “But if something rises to that occasion, that’s why we will do all the homework on what has transpired down here and if that reaches to an impeachment inquiry, we’ll follow through with that.”

It is beyond believable that the chaos at the U.S. southern border has reached such a fevered pitch, with tens of thousands of illegal migrants being “processed” daily. Even with the support of active duty troops the numbers are staggering. Besides impeaching Mayorkas, Joe Biden and his administration need held to account for this invasion of our nation and the cost to the American tax-payer, that seemingly is not even a concern at this point for them.

Used to relying on the average American family’s generosity, these illegal migrants need to come to understand that forced generosity becomes a point of distain for most. This nation is made up of millions of families. The U.S. government is not an entity unto itself. It works for and is supported by, each tax-paying family whose very hard-earned wealth is being re-distributed to them, without our consent, through the use of public subsidies. This needs to STOP. Biden is bankrupting America.

This nation cannot afford this border onslaught and printing paper money does not change that.
