Globalist Klaus Schwab to resign as chairman of World Economic Forum

 April 4, 2025

Klaus Schwab has decided to resign from his chairmanship at the World Economic Forum (WEF) after an illustrious fifty-year tenure. Following an internal probe into allegations of racism and gender bias, which were later denied, Schwab announced his departure.

Just The News reported that Schwab founded the WEF and has been a pivotal figure since its inception, guiding discussions on global economic policies and strategies. His leadership spanned five decades, making him one of the longest-serving heads of an international organization.

Last year, the Wall Street Journal reported issues at the WEF concerning allegations of racism and gender bias. This prompted an internal investigation within the organization.

The findings from the investigation did not support the claims against Schwab or the institution. However, both the allegations and the investigation seem to have influenced Schwab’s decision to step down from his role.

World Economic Forum Begins Search for Replacement

In May of the previous year, Schwab transitioned from his role as executive chairman to a non-executive position. He had already initiated the process of stepping down, signaling changes in the leadership structure of the WEF.

With Schwab's forthcoming exit, the WEF has started the search for a new chairperson. This process is expected to run until January 2027, aiming for a seamless transition in leadership.

A spokesperson from the WEF confirmed these timelines to the Wall Street Journal, emphasizing the organization's commitment to finding the right successor.

The departure of Schwab coincides with other significant changes within the WEF’s leadership. Recently, the WEF saw the exit of key personnel, including Nicola Port, the chief legal officer, and Malte Godbersen, the head of technology and digital services.

Additionally, the WEF's annual gathering in Davos was notably addressed by U.S. President Donald Trump, marking one of the significant events shortly after his second inauguration.

These transitions in the organization highlight a period of significant restructure and change, reflecting both planned strategic shifts and responses to internal challenges.

Børge Brende Addresses the Forum's Future

The current CEO of the WEF, Børge Brende, has publicly addressed these changes. In a memo, he highlighted the organization's commitment to "pause, listen, and reflect" as essential steps towards improvement.

Brende emphasized a desire for transformation within the Forum, not just in practices but in culture and mission, aiming to elevate its effectiveness and inclusivity.

"This period of reflection has been grounded in a desire not just to do things differently, but to do them better," Brende mentioned in his memo, signaling a proactive approach towards addressing and resolving leadership and organizational issues.

Klaus Schwab, also known for his writings such as "The Great Reset," has deeply influenced modern economic thought and policy. His departure marks the end of an era for the WEF.

While his resignation closes a significant chapter in the history of the WEF, it also opens up opportunities for new ideas and leadership that could reshape the Forum's impact on global economic discussions.
