Former Vice President Dick Cheney, in a campaign ad released Thursday for his daughter’s floundering re-election campaign, claims that Donald Trump is the greatest threat in U.S. History. Accusing Trump of lying to his supporters.
He stated –
“In our nation’s 246-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump” (adding Trump is) “a coward” (and not a) “real man” because “a real man wouldn’t lie to his supporters.”

According to Cheney’s assessment, Trump is a liar. In his self-righteous manner he asks:

This must be his memory fading or age when he is speaking because - lying is just what Dick Cheney did. Just because you want to help your failing daughter’s campaign with speeches like the following ad – doesn’t mean America cannot remember the devastation wrought by your very own lies.
In 2016, during the Republican debate right before the South Carolina primary (which Trump won), Donald Trump famously stated-
“Obviously, the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake. They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction. There were none, and they knew there were none.” (emphasis added)

Widely regarded as the brains behind President George W. Bush’s disastrous administration, Cheney is said to be one of the architects of the Iraq War. The foreign conflict, he helped to falsely create, cost America and our allies dearly in blood, not to mention the horrors that this war inflicted on the Iraqi people, complete with the savage torture of Iraqi prisoners that the Bush-Cheney administration’s defense secretary approved.
No, Dick Cheney cannot escape his involvement in some major lies to the American people and the world - He must not be a “real man”.
His first major series of lies, as a part of the Bush-Cheney administration included the fact that, he told America that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction (WMDs), that Iraq had sought to buy “yellowcake” aka uranium oxide and that Saddam had some responsibility for the 9/11 attacks. Those statements all turned out to be totally false.
Hussein most definitely was an evil man, but in reality, he was no threat to the United States and in retrospect we now know, that the Bush administration, also knew at the time, their WMD “intelligence” was notably “imprecise.” In fact, America, by their misleading efforts, launched an invasion into a country that was not an eminent threat to the U.S.
Next Cheney, as a leading part of the Bush administration indicated, that U.S. forces would be “greeted as liberators” adding that the invasion would be, a “cakewalk.” The truth is 4,598 U.S. troops and American citizens died in Iraq with injuries sustained by another 32,000.
Further, Americans we were told by Cheney and Bush, backed up by their then supporters, that Operation Iraqi Freedom would set off a ripple of Middle East democracy, when in fact, it started wave of sectarian fighting, regional instability, civil wars, migrant crises, and suicide bombings. Barely leaving any Christians in the region, that gave birth to the religion, the conflict also touched off the genocidal ethnic cleansing of ancient Christian communities.
The Iraq War saw roughly three million Iraqis displaced as refugees, and as many as 306,000 civilians and troops died in the conflict. The devastation of Cheney’s lies will outlive us all. Those who lost servicemen and servicewomen in the conflict, can attribute their deaths to the false intelligence Cheney and Bush spread.
Cheney’s lies should be considered when we think of: all the American children who grew up without fathers or mothers because their parents were serving in a war based on lies, all the veterans who came home forever scarred and all the innocent Iraqis who watched their homes destroyed, their country plundered, and their world turned upside down for generations. Cheney’s lies have left a huge wake of destruction in real lives, America’s history and in the lives of the people of Iraq – not a great point of leadership Dick. Who lied?
Now, Dick Cheney, wants us to believe that Donald Trump is “a greater threat to our republic” than anyone else in all our 246-year history. That is laughable given the magnitude of your own lies. Cheney, “if the shoe fits – wear it” a wise person once said. Someone else also said, “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones”.
That’s why Liz, his daughter is going to lose her seat, because she has bought into her own false convictions and instead of serving the people of her state, she is on a hate march to see Trump toppled. Distraction wastes U.S. Taxpayers time and money. With the current administration in charge – they don’t need her help to waste anything. They are doing a great job of destroying America all by themselves.
