Claiming Thursday, the use of “civilianized” personnel would “restore” the dignity of all involved, Texas Democrat Rep. Veronica Escobar called an end to the handling of illegals that cross America’s borders by law enforcement. Her proposal has recently gotten the ear of President Joe Biden.
In a recent interview on MSNBC’s “Reports” with José Díaz-Balart, representative Escobar discussed her proposals with Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, adding that “I have proposed and have been working with Secretary Mayorkas on reforming the way we process asylum seekers at the southern border.”
It would seem to Escobar that these illegal immigrants are not legally breaking the law and so they should not merit being refused, turned back or charged, especially by law enforcement? Essentially, she does not want them handled by law enforcement because seemingly officers have better things to do than protecting the US Border, maybe? This is the radical left promoting a solid open border policy!
According to Escobar, her reforms for the change in processing would include a plan to “civilianize” the current personnel in charge. She added “We should not be utilizing law enforcement to essentially manage or oversee or process vulnerable populations,” adding “We should civilianize that personnel and get law enforcement back to what they were trained to do.” She obviously means things related to real acts of lawless, of which crossing the US Border illegally doesn’t count.
Rep. Escobar continued - “I think it will really be a watershed moment for us on the border if we’re able to successfully make this work,” claiming that if “we restore dignity to the process, restore dignity to migrants, and to federal personnel and maintain our security at the same time.” She seemingly describing this a win – win situation, Essentially the Democratic party and the illegals win - America loses.
Escobar argued just last year that, people concerned about inflation would appreciate the productivity boost that should come from provisions for work permits for illegal immigrants in the Build Back Better reconciliation bill. Undoubtedly, she means these proposed permits for illegal immigrants would equal future votes.
In a move expected to bring an even larger wave of migrants to the U.S. southern border, the Biden administration plans to end the Title 42 policy, that now helps border officials regulate the inflow of unprecedented levels of illegal immigration. Clearly Escobar has stepped up to the plate to forward her proposals to help process the mass numbers of illegals expected at the border soon. She literally wants to facilitate an open border policy that doesn’t legally exit.
In response, some twitter users posted: “So instead of sending border patrol to our border, the left wants to send social workers, most likely to sign them up for all the benefits they can be signed up for.”, “Democrats are dangerously lawless, pure and simple,” and “Stop defending the invasion of our country and my state!”
Americans can see reality and are not fooled by the likes of Escobar.
With more than 209,000 migrants apprehended after crossing the border from Mexico into the U.S. in March, representing the highest number of migrant apprehensions for one month since March 2000, America faces over the top levels of pending illegal immigration. This also beats the Biden-era record of 200,658 set in July of 2021.
America is a sitting duck with policies such as the Biden administration is clearly supporting, its citizenry needs stronger border patrols, with law enforcement that actively works. Sadly, legislators like representative Escobar who want to assist in the demise of our current US sovereignty with its’ follow-on negative economic impact are ignoring the real victims here – The US taxpayers / legal citizens.
