British journalist suspected of being a member of the radical Muslim Brotherhood facing deportation

U.S. authorities have just nabbed a British journalist at a major airport over suspected connections to a controversial extremist group, according to Breitbart News.

The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that Sami Hamdi, a British journalist, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at San Francisco International Airport, detained on suspicion of ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, and now faces deportation after his visa was revoked.

This dramatic takedown happened on a quiet Sunday, as reported by credible sources, when Hamdi was reportedly en route to Tampa, Florida, for an event tied to a group described by some as having questionable affiliations.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer took to the social media platform X to reveal that DHS sources tipped her off about Hamdi’s plans to headline an event for what she called a problematic organization with alleged links to extremist causes.

It’s no small matter when someone is detained at an airport, and the timing couldn’t be more telling—Hamdi had apparently been moving across the country, speaking at various venues, before ICE stepped in.

Adding fuel to the fire, DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin didn’t mince words, stating, “Under President Trump, those who support terrorism and undermine American national security will not be allowed to work or visit this country.”

Visa Revocation Signals Tougher Immigration Stance

McLaughlin also credited key administration figures for the swift action, emphasizing the hard work of law enforcement in ensuring Hamdi’s visa was pulled and he was placed in custody pending removal.

But not everyone sees this as a win for security—some are crying foul, claiming the arrest oversteps boundaries and targets dissenters rather than genuine threats.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) jumped into the fray, slamming the detention as unjust and demanding ICE provide clarity and release Hamdi without delay.

CAIR went further, alleging, “Our nation must stop abducting critics of the Israeli government at the behest of unhinged Israel First bigots.”

While CAIR’s statement packs a punch, it sidesteps the core issue of whether Hamdi’s activities posed a legitimate concern for national security, instead framing it as a geopolitical witch hunt.

Meanwhile, investigative journalist Amy Mek has painted a darker picture on X, claiming Hamdi wasn’t just passing through but actively engaging in training and mobilizing efforts within American communities, allegedly tied to extremist doctrines.

Allegations of Extremist Training Surface

Mek’s reports suggest Hamdi’s appearances at mosques and universities weren’t mere speeches but part of a broader strategy to influence and organize activists within U.S. institutions.

She also pointed to Hamdi’s documented links to banned figures and participation in overseas programs associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, raising eyebrows about why he was allowed to operate freely for so long.

While these claims are serious, they must be weighed against the need for due process—deportation is a heavy hammer, and the public deserves transparency on the evidence behind such a decisive move.
