On Monday, the White House vowed that, should it pass both houses of Congress, President Biden will veto a bill that would prevent biological males from participating in women's sports. Introduced by Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., “The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act”, or H.R. 734, is expected to come to a vote on the House floor sometime this week.

“Steube said his bill is needed to fight back against an invasion of "woke" policies across the country that go against the spirit of Title IX, which was meant to encourage women’s sports.”
"The policies of the woke, progressive Left have invaded schools and campuses across America," Steube wrote in March. "Allowing biological males on women’s sports teams and in their locker rooms creates an unfair competitive environment for female athletes."…."Americans deserve the opportunity to see where their elected representatives stand on this incredibly important issue," he added. "I look forward to voting in favor of this legislation to save women’s sports on the House floor very soon."

However in opposition, the Biden White House claimed such a law was "unnecessary," and that it "hurts families and students." The White House said in a more complete statement-
"The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 734,". "For students nationwide, participating in sports and being part of a team is an important part of growing up, staying engaged in school, and learning leadership and life skills. H.R. 734 would deny access to sports for many families by establishing an absolute ban on transgender students—even those as young as elementary schoolers—playing on a team consistent with their gender identity." "Schools, coaches, and athletic associations around the country are already working with families to develop participation rules that are fair and that take-into-account particular sports, grade levels, and levels of competition. As a national ban that does not account for competitiveness or grade level, H.R. 734 targets people for who they are and therefore is discriminatory,"
"Discrimination has no place in our nation’s schools or on our playing fields. Instead of addressing the pressing issues that families and students face today—such as raising teacher pay, keeping guns out of schools, addressing the mental health crisis our youth face, and helping students learn and recover academically from unprecedented disruptions—Congressional Republicans have instead chosen to prioritize policies that discriminate against children,"

Describing further their claim that the bill creates a "one-size-fits-all requirement that forces coaches to remove kids from their teams," the administration argued that transgender youth, were already facing a mental health crisis. However, instead of offering a solution for the mental health issue, that they clearly admit is occurring, the administration would rather put vast numbers of female students, who have worked their whole lives to gain excellence in their sport - at risk, physically, emotionally, and socially by allowing biological males to compete against them and share their locker rooms.
Effectively, the Biden administration is asking those students, not mentally challenged in the same way, to give up their dreams - for those who need help in their mental challenges. Biological females are now the victims of their psychologically challenged male counterparts – who mentally “identify” as female. What a grievously convoluted solution to a clearly unaddressed problem. Just because one thinks that scientifically a male is a female, does not make it a reality, no matter the physical alteration or the external dress. Chromosomes are chromosomes.
