In his latest attempt to address record-high prices this summer, Wednesday, President Joe Biden strongly requested that gas stations start lowering their prices. He demanded-
“To the companies running gas stations and setting those prices at the pump, this is a time of war, global peril, Ukraine,”

During a speech at his imitation White House set, across the street, Biden spoke about the record high gas prices occurring during his administration. He stated-
“These are not normal times. Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you are paying for the product,” Biden said. “Do it now. Do it today.”

Noting that it could help reduce prices, Biden called for congress to pass a federal gas tax holiday, urging the states to do so as well. Additionally, griping that the price of oil had fallen slightly, but gas prices did not fall commensurately, he complained-
“Some haven’t reduced prices at all,” adding “I’m doing my part,” he said defensively. “I want the congress, states, the industry to do their part as well.”

Then blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for the high cost of gas, Biden continues to deflect the cost of his administrations decisions to go “green” - even though prices rose significantly before Russia invaded Ukraine. Thinking that Americans are stupid and out of touch economically, he also argues that the high cost of gas was the price for defending democracy in Ukraine.
“We could have turned a blind eye to Putin’s murderous ways and the price of gas wouldn’t have spiked the way it has. I believe that would have been wrong. I believed then and believe now the free world had no choice,”

Suggesting that Republicans did not care about Ukraine, because they continue to point out that his administration’s policies have driven the cost for gas sky high, Biden rhetorically questioned-
“Are you saying we would rather have low gas prices in America than Putin’s iron first in Europe?”

Biden would do well to not blame everyone else for the decisions, as seen in the previous video, that he was very prepared to make going into his presidency. It would seem he does not like the political cost. With choices go consequences, Joe.
America is paying a high price at the pump and everywhere else economically as a result. The president needs to own up to his own failures and fallout as a consequence. Joe needs to learn to be content to be the “fall guy” for his administration’s ongoing poor decisions.
In a recent survey, only 11 percent of Americans blame Putin for high gas prices, while 52 percent blame Biden. Joe, America is not buying your blame game.
