Biden Blunder - Accidentally Shares Unknown Detail About Jimmy Carter's Health At Private Dem. Fundraiser

Toward the end of a speech, Monday evening, and immediately after President Biden accidentally revealed a previously unknown detail about former President Carter’s health, he quickly admitted I "should not have said that."  Reportedly, the president revealed during a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe, California, that Carter, whose health is waning, and has been placed on hospice care at his home, instructed Biden to deliver his eulogy.

Biden reportedly remarked –

"He asked me to do his eulogy - excuse me I shouldn’t say that,". "I spent time with Jimmy Carter and it’s finally caught up with him. But they found a way to keep him going for a lot longer than they anticipated because they found a breakthrough."

Apparently, Biden also implied that Carter’s former cancer had returned, however his remarks were not recorded as video was not allowed. Biden was said to be discussing breakthroughs in cancer treatment and urging the dozens of people in the room, to increase funding for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). This is an initiative that Biden created last year to improve the government’s ability to speed biomedical and health research.

Of the ARPA-H Biden said,

“[it] will pursue ideas that break the mold on how we normally support fundamental research and commercial products in this country." And previously "ideas so bold no one else, not even the private sector, is willing to give them a chance or to sink a lot of money into trying to solve,"

When Carter was president, Biden and Carter worked together. At the time, Biden was a U.S. senator, the two also helped one another's respective campaigns.

Then at the same event, Biden also commented on the state of democracy in the U.S. and the results of the 2022 midterm elections. Biden reportedly claimed-

"I think the American public has moved to a place where they're genuinely worried about our democracy," adding[ it’s ]"not a joke. It's not hyperbole."  [Saying of the media polarization] “"people tune in to what they want to hear." …"If you're a moderate to liberal, you want to look at an MSNBC, that's what you watch on cable, conservatives turn to Fox News,"

-President Joe Biden

Then transitioning to cooperation between the parties, Biden said his administration has worked with congressional Republicans, and would continue to do so, with the Republican majority in the House of Representatives. He added-

"We were told we couldn’t pass anything in a bipartisan way, but guess what? We passed more major bipartisan legislation than anybody has in the recent past,"

-President Joe Biden

Apparently, Biden still has lots of trouble cognitively keeping matters straight. While it is not unthinkable to make an ‘out of line remark’ – it was private information that needed not to be sent across the media outlets. Some respectful tact was in order and Biden missed it.

Sadly, every public speech Biden makes, contains some very ”off” moment where he is struggling to formulate his thoughts, spewing jargon or leaking/mis-speaking his thoughts. It is often sad to watch and embarrassing, in that, his handlers and his wife do not protect him or the American people (whom he represents) from his cognitive decline. Four more years of watching his decline is not a pleasant thought.

“Adult age differences in a variety of cognitive abilities are well documented, and many of those abilities have been found to be related to success in the workplace and in everyday life.”
