After Shooting A Shoplifter at Least 10 Times - Family Dollar Employee Charged With Second-Degree Murder

A Family Dollar employee in Phoenix, Arizona, is under arrest after allegedly shooting a shoplifter at least ten times. Reportedly, the shooting occurred Wednesday just before 8 p.m.

Kevin Salas Madrid, 24, confronted the shoplifter and who apparently punched Madrid in the face. A witness told police, the shoplifter allegedly made a fist, and punched Madrid hard enough to knock his glasses off. It was after that punch that Madrid reportedly opened fire. He allegedly continued to shoot once the suspect fell to the ground. Reportedly, there is a discrepancy in how many shots were actually fired, Fox 10 said – ten times, but AZFamily claimed Madrid shot him 15 times, “emptying his gun’s magazine.” Madrid remains under arrest and has been booked on a second-degree murder charge.
