Actor Chad Lowe’s daughter Fiona, 13, dies by suicide

Los Angeles medical examiner records confirm Chad Lowe’s 13-year-old daughter Fiona died by suicide after she was pronounced dead at a hospital, as the family pleads for privacy.

Page Six reported that records from the Los Angeles Medical Examiner show Fiona Lowe was pronounced dead at the hospital on Tuesday. The cause was confirmed as suicide.

Fiona was the second-oldest daughter of the “Pretty Little Liars” actor and his wife, Kim Painter. She leaves behind sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

The Lowe family released a statement on Sept. 29 announcing the loss. They described a loving girl who loved to dance and asked for prayers during their grief.

In the statement shared across reports, the family said:

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.”

Fox News carried the family’s words calling her the light of their lives and urging anyone in crisis to use available help lines.

They continued: “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The statement closed by pointing people to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Similar tragedies have left other families searching for answers, as when a former NFL player died after troubled public posts.

Chad Lowe had long called himself a proud “girl dad.” Last November, on Fiona’s birthday, he posted: “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

A source told Page Six that Fiona was a “very well-liked student” with “a lot of friends” at the school she attended. The principal emailed parents about a student’s death without naming her and offered counseling resources to anyone who needed support.

Breitbart noted Fiona Hepler Lowe was also the niece of actor Rob Lowe, adding another layer to the family’s public mourning.

On Wednesday, grandfather Charles “Chuck” Lowe posted a tribute with a photo of Fiona in a swimming pool. He wrote simply, “Rest in peace, sweet Fiona.”

High-profile cases sometimes expose how quickly private pain becomes public, including accounts of family members finding loved ones in crisis at home.

The family has asked for space while they grieve. No further details on the hospital or the full medical examiner wording beyond the suicide confirmation have been released in the available accounts.

Other recent coverage has examined how despair can surface in court records and family testimony, as trial evidence has shown in separate tragic cases involving parents and children.

Parents across the country keep watching the same warning signs and the same overstretched support systems. When a 13-year-old who loved to dance is gone, the gap between slogans about mental health and real help for families stands plain.
