FBI Uncovers Clinton's Foreign Donation Talks with Convicted Felon

 December 28, 2025

Imagine a charity so intertwined with political power that it becomes a potential pipeline for foreign influence—welcome to the saga of the Clinton Foundation.

According to the Daily Caller, in a nutshell, during the spring of 2016, as Hillary Clinton neared the Democratic presidential nomination, FBI field agents pressed for a probe into foreign contributions to the Foundation and possible pay-to-play schemes while she served as Secretary of State, only to be shut down by headquarters in Washington, D.C.

For American taxpayers, this isn’t just a political footnote—it’s a direct hit to trust in government, potentially costing millions in oversight and legal battles to untangle whether public office was leveraged for private gain. Conservatives have long argued that such unchecked influence peddling risks national security, especially when foreign funds flow freely into a foundation tied to a high-ranking official. Let’s not kid ourselves: every dollar that might have swayed policy could be a dollar against the public’s interest.

Uncovering the 'Cracked Foundation' Probe

Back in 2008, after losing the presidential primary to Barack Obama, Clinton was appointed Secretary of State, a role that came with a pledge to keep foreign donations out of the Clinton Foundation during her tenure. Yet, evidence later showed the Foundation continued accepting such funds, raising eyebrows among investigators about possible violations of her agreement with the Obama administration.

Enter Sant Singh Chatwal, an Indian hotel magnate and longtime Clinton ally, who pled guilty in 2014 to laundering straw donations for Clinton’s 2008 campaign, forfeiting $1 million in a deal with the Department of Justice. Forbes once pegged his property empire at $750 million, and his cozy ties to the Clintons included a trustee role at the Foundation and a spot at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding. This isn’t just friendship—it’s a connection investigators couldn’t ignore.

By 2010, the FBI had recordings of Chatwal discussing straw donations, with one chilling line to an informant: “That’s the only way to buy them, get into the system.” If that doesn’t scream influence peddling, what does? For conservatives wary of elitist networks, this quote is a neon sign flashing ‘corruption.’

Chatwal’s Nuclear Deal and Campaign Debts

Fast forward to the spring of 2016, when FBI field agents, under the codenamed “Cracked Foundation” investigation, pushed to grill Clinton on her ties to Chatwal, including a recorded chat about settling her 2008 campaign debt with Foundation donations. They wanted to ask, “Were donations made to the Clinton Foundation used for personal use and/or to settle campaign debt?” That’s a question every working-class American deserves an answer to, especially when their tax dollars fund the government she served.

Investigators also eyed Chatwal’s role in the 2008 Indo-U.S. nuclear deal, which eased restrictions on American nuclear tech exports to India, a move Clinton initially opposed but later supported. Chatwal boasted to Indian media, “Even my close friend Hillary Clinton was not in favor of the deal [in 2006]. But when I put the whole package together, she also came on board.”

That’s not just bragging—it’s a red flag about whether personal influence trumped policy. After the deal passed in October 2008, Chatwal celebrated with a call to India’s prime minister and later received a prestigious civilian award for his lobbying. For those skeptical of globalist agendas, this reeks of foreign interests meddling in U.S. decisions.

FBI Headquarters Blocks the Investigation

Despite compelling leads, including intercepted communications tied to the Foundation, FBI headquarters refused to let the investigation proceed, frustrating field agents. An assistant U.S. attorney from the Eastern District of New York later vented in 2019, “We were trying to explore the Foundation, and we were told ‘NO’ by FBI HQ.”  That stonewalling is a gut punch to anyone who believes in equal justice under law.

Adding to the murkiness, a second nonprofit, the Clinton Guistra Sustainable Growth Initiative, popped up after Clinton pledged to limit foreign donations, funneling undisclosed funds to the Foundation. Investigators wanted to press her on how many foreign governments donated to this shadowy entity, but those questions never got asked.

During Clinton’s July 2016 FBI interview on a separate email server probe, codenamed “Midyear Exam,” not a single query about the Foundation or pay-to-play allegations surfaced. For conservatives, this isn’t just oversight—it’s a deliberate sidestep by an administration unwilling to hold its own accountable.

Questions Left Unanswered for Americans

Neither the Clinton Foundation nor Chatwal responded to requests for comment, leaving the public in the dark about these serious allegations. For retirees and families already stretched thin, the idea that political elites might skirt accountability while foreign money flows unchecked is a bitter pill to swallow.

The “Cracked Foundation” probe, inspired partly by Peter Schweizer’s 2016 book “Clinton Cash,” aimed to expose whether Clinton’s State Department decisions were swayed by donations. Yet, under the Obama-era FBI, those leads went cold, leaving conservatives to wonder if the system is rigged to protect the powerful. In the end, this isn’t about partisan mudslinging—it’s about ensuring no one, no matter how connected, is above scrutiny. American homeowners, taxpayers, and workers deserve a government that prioritizes their interests over foreign checkbooks. Let’s hope future investigations don’t get buried under bureaucratic red tape.
