Brace yourself for a dive into the not-so-friendly skies of progressive policy, as newly released documents reveal a startling focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the U.S. Air Force.
Under the Biden administration, the Air Force rolled out extensive DEI training in 2022 at the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), spotlighting leftist rhetoric on racial privilege and institutional bias.
The Daily Caller reported that the Air Force was also hosting pride events at multiple bases, according to records obtained exclusively through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Let’s rewind to 2022, when the Air Force Test Center, a critical hub for testing cutting-edge technology to maintain American air superiority, became a classroom for DEI ideology.
Documents obtained by the Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) through a FOIA request show that AFTC staff were presented with a PowerPoint packed with talking points about racial privilege and claims of systemic discrimination in the United States.
One slide boldly asserted that “The dominant US society, as a whole, discriminates” based on class, race, gender, and sexual orientation—a statement that raises eyebrows when presented as fact to our nation’s defenders.
Is this the mission our airmen signed up for, or a detour into divisive social theory that risks distracting from the real task of national defense?
The training didn’t stop at broad claims; it doubled down by defining DEI terminology in detail and insisting that “equity” was “critical” to force readiness.
Another slide championed diversity as “key to innovation,” which sounds noble until you wonder if the focus on social engineering overshadows the innovation needed for, say, next-gen fighter jets.
While readiness and innovation are vital, one can’t help but question if these buzzwords are being weaponized to push a progressive agenda rather than sharpen our military edge.
Beyond the training, CASA’s documents reveal a flurry of pride celebrations at Edwards and Eglin Air Force Bases, complete with events like a “PRIDE 5K color run,” “Pride Coffee Talks,” and even a “Pride Trivia Night.”
While community-building has its place, it’s fair to ask if such activities align with the Air Force’s core mission of protecting the homeland or if they’re a nod to cultural trends over strategic priorities.
CASA Director James Fitzpatrick didn’t hold back, stating, “CASA has uncovered yet another example of disgraceful attempted DEI indoctrination by the Air Force during the Biden Administration.”
Fitzpatrick further warned, “Presenting to Airmen that the United States is institutionally racist and that DEI is something to live daily hurts morale, recruiting, and drives apart our great men and women in the Air Force.”
He’s got a point—when the narrative shifts from unity under the flag to finger-pointing over societal flaws, it’s hard to imagine that boosting cohesion or attracting top talent becomes easier.
Fitzpatrick also noted, “Thankfully, the Trump administration has ended these divisive DEI policies and turned the focus in our military back to strength, readiness, and lethality,” signaling hope for a course correction that many conservatives would cheer.
