A recent House Judiciary Committee report has found that the Biden-Harris administration's CHNV parole program has been exploited by criminals, including sex traffickers.
Breitbart reported that the program in question, known as CHNV, was inaugurated in January 2023 to manage immigration effectively from four specific countries: Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
Its main intent is to offer a structured entry into the United States via air travel, directing migration flows away from the frequently overwhelmed southern border facilities.
According to the data revealed, the CHNV program permits up to 30,000 individuals per month to enter the U.S. Each applicant is required to have an American supporter who provides a declaration of financial support to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Upon arrival, migrants are granted a two-year parole and the opportunity to apply for a work permit.
However, the report from the House Judiciary Committee suggests that the program's noble intentions have been corrupted. It claims that some applicants have utilized fraudulent documents and that certain claims of financial backing may be traced back to criminal activities.
Furthermore, some individuals who managed to obtain entry through CHNV did not reside in the eligible countries, exacerbating concerns about the oversight and verification processes within the program.
The misuse has reportedly extended to the realm of human trafficking. A notable case linked to sex trafficking highlighted in the report involved a series of applications—predominantly for underage females—originating from a single IP address.

Despite these severe allegations, the program underwent only a temporary suspension. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ordered the shutdown in August 2024 but quickly moved to reinstate the CHNV, asserting adjustments were made to curtail abuses of the system.

The House Judiciary Committee accentuates that over 7.7 million undocumented immigrants have been admitted into the country, including around 1.9 million individuals who have evaded official capture and record ('got-aways').
