The New York Post reported that Jimenez-Salta, 60, experienced fatal injuries on Sunday evening due to a motorcycle accident in Yaphank, while riding as a passenger. The crash occurred after 5:30 p.m., casting a somber mood over the community familiar with her judicial contributions.

Riding on a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Jimenez-Salta was not alone in facing the immediate dangers on the road.

The motorcycle, driven by 65-year-old Frederick Fischer of Bay Shore, collided with a Lexus near Exit 68. Only Fischer and Jimenez-Salta faced serious consequences, with Fischer being rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital due to severe injuries.
