Just when America has endured the Democratic lefts ideas related to national safety, along comes Representative Don Beyer (D-VA) who proposes a 1,000 percent tax on AR-15s and other semiautomatic rifles, that democrats label “assault weapons.”
Under the guise of a “revenue measure” the bill aims at raising the price of these military-style weapons beyond the means of many potential buyers, and could be passed in the Senate with only 50 votes, because it could be introduced through the reconciliation process. Truly, the desperate depth of the democratic party’s scheming is mind-blowing.
Beyer was quoted by the Washington Times as saying-
“Congress must act to prevent mass shooting. I’m writing a bill to restrict the flow of weapons of war into American communities — including AR-15s and high capacity magazines — that could bypass the filibuster and pass with just 50 votes in the Senate.”

According to The Times, Beyer’s bill could drive up the prices of AR-15s to between $4,000 and $20,000. This is the frank removal of freedom of choice, by price gouging (like scalping tickets to an A’s game) and hoping no one else can afford to make the choice. Moreover, the money gouged gets to be spent on the “pork” of the administration’s choice. This is a flat affront and direct attack on every American’s freedom. What’s next?
What other items in our culture would the Democrats like to price gouge on, to push their agenda? Maybe steak knives or box cutters? because they too are dangerous objects in the hands of evil people. I can see the Mexican Cartels, the myriad of gangs nation-wide and the Russian Mafia laughing at this ridiculous attempt to stop them.
Where there is a desire for AR-15’s (as if that were the problem), they will obtain them. Only the law-abiding citizens are going to be without these guns, when they are accosted by the above groups who carry them. Beyer’s and his over the top crazed colleagues need to wise up. As Senator Cruz (R-TX) said recently-

According to Breitbart News, back in November of 2020, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) numbers showed that Americans own a reported 434 million firearms. That includes the nearly 20 million, that are Modern Sporting Rifles, firearms categorized by Democrats as “assault weapons.”
When you consider the millions of firearms, owned by Americans, that fit this category, together with the numbers of deaths associated with them here in the U.S., there is solid evidence that it is - people of diminished mental capacity or just plain evil - who use them against others. The numbers, relating the AR15’s as being the real cause of the problem, do not add up. This bill is a sleazy attempt to control U.S. citizens - who have a constitutional right to bear arms. Another name for this is tyranny by political design.
